Caring Kids at KIS
Last Saturday, GRADE 4 students from the KIS International school went to school for a very different reason. With their parents in tow, they came to host a fun-and-games morning for the children from the Thanksgiving Home. It was a beautiful effort to see how parents happily helped with the food and organisation of some activities while the kids buddied up — one on one- with a child from the Home. Fun sees no barriers between kids who are differently-abled. Though developmentally-challenged, the kids from the Thanksgiving Home showed off and impressed the audience with their magic show — with the full effects of magical doves and flaming acts! The students in turn sang a sweet, meaningful song. The get-to-know-you games after saw the kids hand-holding or carrying their buddies to complete their races. There was face-painting, art-corners, gifts galore for everyone, plus, the major highlight of FOOD — Parents just know exactly what kids like — so we had fruits (which adults went for) fried chicken, pizza, noodles, and yummy shaved iced desserts — it was such a treat for the kids that ‘lunch’ lingered for more than an hour! Thank you so much KIS for a memorable morning!
