When you’re out on your own, without any family or financial support, it’s tough – especially if you’re pregnant or with a newborn or with a child/children to care for. Mothers feel for mothers — and that’s why recently, the mothers and families of the primary school community of the KIS INTERNATIONAL School/Parent Association (KISPA) held a drive to supply brand new undergarments as well as maternity clothes, newborn needs and children’s wear for the women & children att he Emergency Shelter. We also had some great support from the Expat Mummies from the Facebook forum, ‘The Mummy Club’ — just so thankful for the generous response we got to our request. You can see here how thankful these girls were.
It was like Christmas come early for these ones as they were invited to take what they needed or liked from the array of undergarments and clothes arranged from S to XXL!
We even had a section for our ‘Fashion Show’ clothes (as they were to model these on our ‘catwalk’ for our Sunday activity) along with other daily wear. After they completed their choices, we then laid out the baby/toddler wear for them to choose for the little ones…It was truly a happy day for all!
On the side of all this, we had German Mime artiste teaching some of the teen girls a Mime skit in preparation for a performance for their Sunday activity.
