Haruki’s Happy Highlights at the Thanksgiving Home
Just last week, we arranged for a Japanese friend to spend a week of his holidays working with disadvantaged children. He stayed at the Thanksgiving Home, adding value to the kids there and those from the Rajawadee Girls’ Home. This was his note of appreciation to us: I finished my time volunteering in Thanksgiving home. It was an incredible experience for me! I taught them Japanese, English, Origami and the guitar. I was worried whether the children were interested in my classes but they looked like they were trying hard to understand. I was surprised at it because I had thought it was difficult for them. Especially, they enjoyed Origami and Japanese. Most students remembered some Japanese which I taught and spoke some Japanese, That made me happy. I introduced some Japanese songs to them and they looked like they enjoyed listening my songs. But I couldn’t teach them how to play the guitar. I thought it was difficult for them so what I could do was only sing songs by myself. Khun Wanchai and his wife treated me so kind so I didn’t have to worry about anything in Thanksgiving home. I have no words to express my gratitude to them. And it was you who gave me the oppotunity to try. This experience will be my treasure in my whole life. So I also really appreciate you. Thank you so much‼
