BIG-HEARTED HELP from INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS!
Two of Bangkok’s leading international schools recently showed the core value of community care and awareness when they partnered with CTM to add value to many of our projects and partners. The final-year art students, under teacher Patrick O’Connor, of KIS INTERNATIONAL School earlier this year held an exhibition of their creative works. Through this, they raised funds to help children of asylum-seekers and refugees , some of whom are held in the immigration detention center (IDC) . CTM, in partnership with Pastor Mark from the Pakistani Revive Ministry Thailand, received 65,000 baht which will go towards the learning center and educational needs of these children. On the same day we received the cheque, we also received seven boxes full of books and readers from HARROW INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL which will go to the IDC daycare center, the Revive Ministry learning center, the Gateway Builder’s Learning Center (for Karen, Mon and other ethnic refugee kids from Burma) in Sangklaburi, New Beginnings Children’s Home (for migrant and poor kids) in Chiang Rai, Feed My Lambs & Life Impact homes in Mae Sot, as well as the COC-Haven Foundation school in Chiang Mai – who we are partnering to do the distribution in the north. Thank you to the kids, and the volunteers who helped to sort and organise the hundreds of books! Our deep appreciation to both schools and everyone involved in working within your community to make this difference in the greater community of our global family!
