Distribution of a Large Donation of Imported Food
Say “CHEESE”!!
These kids sure have something to smile about! We were recently overwhelmed with a large donation of imported goods including cheeses, chocolates, canned foods, beans, olives ….delightful delicacies which are a rare treat in this part of the world.
Without adequate fridge storage, our volunteers swiftly worked a full couple of days to organise, divide and bag all the goodies for distribution to the different disadvantaged communities we work with. After the organisation, then it was a trip to deliver the goods too!
Our distribution included almost 30 families in three marginalised migrant communities in Bangkok, the Thanksgiving Home, and the Mirror Foundation. Besides the cheeses & canned foods, the migrant communities also received bottles of body wash, olive oil, a mattress, pillows, men’s and children’s clothes, hangers & towels. The Thanksgiving Home also received coconut oil, a new stroller, folders for school/office, mustard and BBQ sauces.
Early this morning, CTM loaded up our car to the brim with goods for the migrant communities all the way up in the Thai-Myanmar border town near Sangklaburi!
More pics to be posted soon. We sent up ice-packed styrofoam boxes filled with cheese, plus other boxes of the canned foods including canned tuna, clothes, toys, stationery, shoes, plastic plates, cups, cooking oil, 18 kg of flour — headed for a six-hour drive north-west to the Sangklaburi border to assist our NGO partners there at an education centre run for the children and youth of jungle villagers and migrants.
Gratitude to our Givers, volunteers, and BAMBI (Babies and Mothers Bangkok International) for helping cover expenses for this project!
