Luca tops up the Piggy Bank!
Luca, an 11year-old student from KIS, recently fulfilled his mission of providing a self-sustaining resource for people in need. With the funds he single-handedly raised, we were able to get 40 piglets, pig food as well as set all up in about 10 dorms and shelters. A few months ago, Luca set out to create an awareness and raise funds for our piggy bank project. This project was started to provide children’s homes, poor villages and student dormitories with piglets. These piglets are cared for and when they grow bigger, they can be sold for a profit which will then pay for education and needs, plus buy another set and have more pigs. This should grow till where it will provide these communities with funding for food and the educational needs of the children. Luca and his family were brought around, by coordinators Rachen (to the Maeramat communities) and Ivy (in Mae Sot) to the various dormitories to meet the students who stay there, and who will be the ones helping to care for the pigs. Seeing this come to pass is testimony to the power of ONE — you’re never too small, too simple, to young to make that difference. Luca stands today as a testimony to how one compassionate heart can make a difference.Thank you, Luca!
