Piggy Bank Project progress
We’re happy to report that we’ve had another investment of a few more pigs to the Karen village in Kai Wai — now we have villages in Maeramat that would like to follow suit.
The Piggy Bank project is a CTM initiative to break the cycle of poverty in many of these villages as well as the shelters for disadvantaged students. It is a way to help them help themselves with a self-sustaining project, where the pigs can be bred for food or for sale. With just a couple of males and alot of females, one village will have the means and resources to work together to have a productive farm. If you’d like to be part of making a difference and turning a whole village around, providing them a source of income, please consider helping by putting something into our Piggy Bank! — Prices of the pigs fluctuates according to season and supply, but the approximate price for each female pig costs about 1,300-1,500 baht. These are the black pigs which are much cheaper than the brown/pink ones.
Drop us a line in a message if you want to be a part of this community-transforming project. Thanks!
