Recipe for Gingerbread goodness!
(Specially provided by the wonderful team at the Plaza Athenee A Royal Meridien Hotel)
Ingredients:
*One Giant Gingerbread House and a chocolate-smothered Tuk-Tuk
*Creative kids
*Parents who just enjoy watching their kids have fun
*Lots of gingerbread cookies
*a great selection of finger foods and drinks (wine for adults)
*Good music
*event proceeds which go to help disadvantaged community projects
*magic
Method:
Fill up the five-star Plaza Athenee (A Royal Meridien hotel) restaurant with more than 80 excited parents and children.
Place in front of them an array of colored icing creams, sprinkles, M&Ms and all sort of delightful add-ons they can use to decorate the gingerbread cookies they have.
Set up buffet tables with soda drinks, savoury finger foods, an array of tempting cakes, sweet delicacies and a WHITE chocolate fountain!
Fill the air with an ambiance of Christmas with the harmonious sound of carols from the incredibly talented Filipino songsters — Lonna, Humy and Naomi.
Add an extra act of Magic, a show performed by the kids from the Thanksgiving Home
The final touch? — let the kids put on gobs of cream onto their cookies and then, have more fun plastering their ‘works of art’ onto the walls of the Giant Gingerbread House!
This mixture gave us a whole afternoon of FULFILLING FUN as the children not only worked on decorating their cookies and later, decorating the House, they also learnt some DIY simple magic tricks which they will no doubt be using this Christmas to impress their friends and family.
We are very thankful for the awesome support we received from the many families, friends who turned up to join in this event — the proceeds of which will go to helping upcoming projects, activities planned for December and the coming first quarter of the new year.
