The Party Continues
It was another surprisingly long, busy day! Our various sponsoring companies were coming to bring back their equipment — we had workers all through the day coming to dismantle the stage, picking up the table and chairs, dismantling spotlights, returning the powerful cooling fans,,,,it was a non-stop flow of workers throughout the day….
But we had another surprise in the making — Party Part 2! — when just before noon, we had a vanfull of kids & adults from the Thanksgiving Home come by for another round of FUN!
It began when we found that we stil had a big bag of more than 70 sculptured balloons! These could be a source of joy to some kids, somewhere, we thought…. So we called Khun Kaurwan Tripiyachart (Maetim) of the Thanksgiving Home to ask if we could share this with Baan Napapoom, a government-run center for kids with disabilities, We also had some extra paint boxes of plastercraft figurines, donated by the Roberts family, that the kids could work on. Maetim happily told me that the kids were free today and could all come over because their local school was closed for some official event. So, they came and got to do everything that they had missed yesterday at the carnival — painting plastercraft figurines, riding the Trikers, doing the flying fox plus the highlight of BEING the dunce on the Dunk Tank! After everyone had lunch, Steven Ekner got to do what he really wanted to do yesterday but never got the chance — his place as Dunk Tank dunce! All the girls wanted a chance to be the dunce as well, seeing how he seemed to have so much fun! They preferred being dunked in the water than throwing the ball!
However, nobody had any change of clothes…
Like with every miracle of supply we’ve seen with this party, God had this covered! Yesterday, a friend brought a whole big of gifts for girls. Because of the number of kids at last night’s party plus the number of gifts that had to be given out, we somehow overlooked this bag. I called the friend and asked her what the gifts were? You guessed it — Clothes!!
They wet team excitedly received their gift boxes, traded a few pieces according to size and voila, they all happily returned with a new set of clothes!
