After a late night on the 24th, we were up and running early to get ready for a performance at the Miracle Grand Hotel. Our CTM carolling team, which included several international school students, performed for the kids from the orphanage, the Pakkred Babies Home (Bahn Dek On Pakkred ) as well as hotel guests. This was followed by an absolutely scrumptious buffet lunch – a treat indeed for us all.
With happy hearts and full tummies, we then went off to bring some Christmas goodies to the Home for the Blind and Multiply-Handicapped.
We came in the midst of their Christmas program and were glad to catch a couple of their performances. We came just in time for the afternoon snack break!
The kids then adjourned to the dining area where our volunteers helped to distribute Cremo ice-cream and cake/muffins from the Rembrandt and Plaza Athenee hotels. It was a small gesture but for the international school students who came with us, this was their first experience interacting with such handicapped kids and it stretched their hearts as they naturally responded in assisting where they could. After distributing, we sat down to help those who could not easily feed themselves.
Being that Christmas is a celebration of love – the Love of God incarnate – we were glad for the opportunity to have been able to share part of our Christmas Day with these kids and their caregivers.
